PERSISTENT WATER SHORTAGES

In line with the “Agenda Fix It” Policy, the UENR SRC, under the Danso-Boachie Administration, continues to prioritize student welfare with impactful projects aimed at resolving critical issues.

One such pressing challenge has been the persistent water shortage affecting washrooms and other essential facilities on campus. In response, the SRC has taken decisive action by installing three additional poly tanks at strategic locations to improve water accessibility and ensure a more convenient experience for all students.

These locations are;

  • School of Sciences Block

  • Syndicated Hall (SH)

  • Engineering Lab

These installations are expected to relieve the strain on water supply, especially during peak hours, and support the broader goal of improving sanitation and hygiene across campus.

ZINKO STREETLIGHTS RESTORATION

As a major milestone under the Agenda Fix-It Policy, the Zinko Streetlights Restoration Project highlights the administration’s strong commitment to campus safety.

This initiative aims to improve campus security and infrastructure by replacing old streetlights and installing new cables from the Roundabout to the SSNIT Road. The upgraded lighting system enhances nighttime visibility, making it safer for students and community members. Beyond infrastructure, the project reflects the SRC’s commitment to a secure and student-focused environment. The improved lighting is also expected to deter crime and support students who move around campus at night.

COMPLETION OF FURNITURE PROCURED

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve student comfort and academic experience, the UENR SRC, under the Danso–Boachie Administration, is thrilled to announce the successful completion and deployment of newly procured tables and chairs across campus lecture halls.

This initiative was started by the previous SRC administration, which laid the groundwork for the procurement of the furniture in early stages. Building on this foundation, the current Danso–Boachie Administration provided the necessary financial and logistical support to complete and deploy the project effectively. This seamless transition and collaboration across SRC leadership is a testament to our shared commitment to student welfare and continuity in development.

ELEVATING ACADEMIC SPACES

A conducive learning environment fosters academic excellence, and the UENR Students’ Representative Council (SRC) is taking bold steps to ensure that students have access to improved lecture rooms. Through strategic advocacy and proactive initiatives, the Danso-Boachie administration is transforming lecture halls into spaces that inspire learning and intellectual growth..

Recognizing the challenges students face with lecture room conditions, the SRC has worked closely with university management to introduce essential enhancements. Among these efforts is the installation of new ceiling fans and electrical sockets in the App Lap lecture rooms. This improvement not only increases comfort during lectures but also ensures that students can charge their devices conveniently.

Additionally, the SRC has addressed the issue of unstable seating arrangements by providing over 120 stabilizing strips for chairs. These strips help to secure the furniture, reducing unnecessary movement that can disrupt lectures.

BOOSTING CAMPUS SECURITY

This initiative stands as one of the latest accomplishments under our leadership—a strategic effort focused on strengthening security operations across the UENR campus.

As part of this project, the SRC has equipped the university’s security unit with 20 state-of-the-art walkie-talkies, significantly enhancing real-time communication among security personnel. This upgrade enables swift coordination and rapid response in emergency situations, thereby improving the overall safety and well-being of students, staff, and faculty members.

UENR SRC REVIVES CADET CORPS

In a bold move to strengthen student development, the SRC has successfully reinstated the UENR Cadet program. This initiative marks a significant milestone in institutional growth, reaffirming the SRC’s commitment to nurturing student leadership beyond academics…

Over the years, the re-establishment of the UENR Cadet Corps has been a long-standing dream within the student body—an aspiration grounded in the desire to promote discipline, leadership, and a spirit of service among students. That dream has finally become a reality under the leadership of the Danso-Boachie-led Student Representative Council (SRC).

REVITALIZING SPORTS

In yet another bold step toward creating a more engaging and student-centered environment, the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), under the Danso-Boachie Administration, has refurbished the Hall One basketball court.

This exciting initiative has transformed the once-worn court into a lively and inspiring sports hub, now adorned with a vibrant new paint job and fixed rims—marking a significant upgrade in campus sports facilities.
